Welcome

Welcome to my first post,
After 3 years of Autodesk Revit Experience, and 2 years more using AutoCAD and I'm finding myself on the lookout for new job opportunities.
Over this last week, I have been creating an online portfolio.
After some extensive research and trial and error, I found journoportfolio.com, this website has turned out to be a saving grace in the eyes of creating a new portfolio from scratch.
Relatively easy to use and allowing some HTML scripting when some fanciness is required.
Adding image is as easy as drag and drop, but be aware jpg. images is a must and in a website, friendly file size is suggested.

So why create an online portfolio?
There are a few reasons why.
Firstly I feel the need for online portfolios depend on your career, but with access to your CV, and social networks and even a contact page for direct emails straight from the online portfolio, online portfolios open up more methods to be found and distribute you examples of work.
This allows the recruiters and potential employers to search and find you directly.
Combine it with the power of blogging and you can post articles relevant to your career, thought and feelings on construction news and materials, show off what you're learning and what you working on, the limit is only there by your imagination.
The is even an option to post blogs directly on to the online portfolio.
And because the online portfolio is treated as a website with its own domain, it is even possible to show up on google searches.
Now there is a drawback, like every website, privacy is an issue, so being selective of the content posted is very important.
My personal suggestion is not included, phone number or addresses or any other major information that can be used to steal your identification. All sensitive projects should also not be posted online.

I hope to expand on my current online portfolio shortly and hopefully share my trials and errors and ultimately my findings in the future so please subscribe and get in touch if you have any suggestion of advice
